Moniker has low prices and good customer support. The account interface could use a bit of work, but otherwise they’re great.

Moniker is probably the most secure registrar I’ve used. Unlike other registrars, you need to enter the security code from another person’s account to push a domain name, so people can’t just drop domain names into the accounts of other people. Moniker also has great customer service via phone and email. Finally, Moniker didn’t/hasn’t turned over the domain names that the state of Kentucky requested as other registrars did or did in spirit.

Since Moniker.com has improved a Huge Problem they had by adding a Ticket Support system, Moniker.com now ranks my #1 domain name registrar!
The interface is very easy (once you get use to it).
The site has never been down when I needed them. Registration prices are very fair. Great Escrow service that I have used several times.
Two big thumbs up for Moniker.com!

For the professional domainer Moniker has no equal. Changing dns is a snap and most user management tools are light years ahead of the competition. Well managed and well run operation, where I sleep well nights even with all the security and seizures going on. HIGHLY Recomended.

Moniker’s Security features and FREE privacy are a definite differentiator from the other “Big” registrars.

I never used Moniker until recently. I purchased 17 domains from a Moniker user and was forced to renew them at Moniker. The renewal prices were more expensive than what I am used at my regular registrar, but not by much. What aggravated me was that I was charged a fee for using PayPal. Though the fee wasn’t a lot, it still breaks PayPal’s terms of service. After writing to Moniker, I did not receive an explanation. I am currently pursuing the issue with PayPal.
Everyone seems to think that Moniker is great. Unfortunately my first experience is only average.

When starting to transfer my names over to Moniker because I heard good things, one of my names “disappeared” a week after it had been transferred. The control panel is not intuitive, and I was not pleased with my service. The prices are a few dollars more than the “mainstream” registrars. I may use their escrow service in the future, but I would not keep my domains at Moniker.

I know a lot of people love moniker and I’m sure they are a great company and your domains will be secure there but each time I had to interact with them, I didn’t like the experience.
I’ve had appraisals done there and had to ask when they would be ready days after submitting the order. Then, shortly after I asked they would be sent.
I’ve had domains there but found their user interface to be pretty unfriendly.
I’ve had business deal with them that didn’t turn out as expected.
There customer service leaves something to be desired.
They should release domains from their unpaid names department.
So, for me, I try to avoid Moniker but still deal with them since they are a key Player in the space.

Moniker pricing is very reasonable and their customer service/support is very good and professional. The security features and privacy protection are also a big plus! If you have Bari as your account rep - You can’t ask for anything more!

Moniker has proven to be a very good registrar. Their support staff is always available and goes the extra mile to do whatever it takes. They have amazing security built into their platform. It is comforting to have domains with them.

Pricing and domain management seem ok, but their shrinking domain portfolio leads me to believe they may not be the most stable place to keep a big account.

Good registrar with good security. Prices is reasonable. Their security system sometime to hassle, but if you look by security point of view, you may accept that. My suggestion, they should give support 24/7, not during business hours only, since they have many domains with them.

I’ve used Moniker on and off for a couple of years. They are pretty solid, but I find their control panel bewildering and their transfer obstacles a pain.
I’ve moved almost all of my domains to Name.com or to Fabulous. I still thinking highly of Moniker, but they just aren’t for me.

After a year or more of testing out various functions on Moniker’s site, I’ve begun moving all of my personal domains there from BlowDaddy. The speed of their interface and the simple, no-tramp advertising is very refreshing. I can finally work with on my domain settings without having to continuously looking over my shoulder to see if the wife and kids are watching daddy ‘looking at all those nasty women’. I would agree with other statements here that 24/7 customer support would be better when it comes to grabbing a bigger market share. Something to think about, Moniker.

After dealing with Godaddy and Namecheap, I tried Moniker and I have to say they are simply the best.

Moniker.com has the absolute worst customer service of any registrar I have ever used. I heard good things about them, so I transferred 200 of my current domains to them thinking that they would be a top notch company. I was so wrong! There is NOBODY answering their phones on the weekends or weeknights. Their user interface is circa 1997, and their hosting company, coolhandle.com, is even worse in this regard. I would highly recommend that you DON’T use Moniker.com.

Moniker has excellent pricing, a good (but not great) interface for managing domains, and a reputation for keeping your domains safe. One negative is that their website is poorly organized and information is often hard to find. For example, try to do a pricing comparison of Moniker and Dynadot. Moniker’s pricing info takes quite a bit of hunting. The price list itself is also a point of some confusion. It shows that Moniker charges $6 for URL forwarding, something many registrars offer for free. However, in a recent DNForum thread a Moniker rep explained that URL forwarding was free - you just have to submit a support ticket requesting it. It’s nice to know I can get URL forwarding for free but it bothers me that Moniker would charge me $6/domain if I didn’t happen to learn of this unpublicized trick. In my opinion, reputable well-established companies should have consistent and visible policies about pricing. I hope they clarify their pricing policy because I would have scored Moniker 5/5 except for this issue.
