I could never figure out how to buy a domain at tucows.com.
Seriously last time I checked you could not buy a domain at tucows. So, I just went there to see if they changed something.
They did. You go to tucows.com and click on the bar to register a domain. Guess what. You are taken to Hover.com
So, I ask again. How do you buy a domain from tucows.com?

Listing Tucows on these ratings is a bit misleading. They do not offer their service directly to the public. Instead they offer bulk service to resellers who use their tools to offer domain registration services. The reseller service is also known as OpenSRS so any references you find to that name is the same as Tucows. Each reseller will have their own individual policies and management interfaces. Some may choose to implement their services on top of the generic management interfaces and some may choose to use the OpenSRS API’s to implement their own management interfaces. I would estimate the vast majority of resellers using OpenSRS/Tucows will be using the generic management interface and will not have implemented their own custom front end management tool. The reseller has to collect payments, check domain availability, and handle customer service separately and this is an area where resellers will differentiate themselves from one another.
The generic management tools are pretty good but would not be a good fit for a high volume user with a large number of domains to manage. You generally have to work with a single domain at a time for many types of changes.
The OpenSRS system provides an easy startup solution to companies looking for a company to partner with which is why it is very popular choice for many resellers.
Because all your customer service, pricing, and many security aspects are going to be determined by the reseller you choose you should shop around.
Hover is just one of the many resellers using the OpenSRS system.
Go to http://referrals.tucows.com/ for a larger list of resellers using the tucows/OpenSRS system.

Hover Services of Tucows have the worst costumer service i ever know, in several emails i detailed them whats my problem and no one until i got mad and asked for supervision that an action was taken, i used to work in a costumer service and i know that is normal for users to be lazy, this time this people assumed that and didn’t want to read all the information i sent them in the ticket that was important (and for the final words of then surely it was), all they kept doing was giving me links of the help section. Terrible experience.

We had a domain registered with Tucows and needed to update some details so needed a log-in re-set. I sent 6 EMails to registeredsite.com@PerfectPrivacy.com, as on the Tucows website. After no response to the first 2 after 2 weeks, I requested delivery and read receipts for the remainder. 3 were returned with a status of ‘delete unopened’.
I wrote to the Complance Department, who promised that Tucows would respond within 2 working days, but 2 weeks later still no response.
Don’t expect any help or support once they’ve got your money.
Better still, find an alternative registrar who cares about their customers.
